Terra Nova Collective Forgotten Composers

One of the key challenges and opportunities in classical music today is the consideration how to innovate it. This can be done by changing the format of performances or by changing the repertoire.

The last few decades have been marked by a lot of new repertoire discoveries and revivals of forgotten composers.
Giving this unknown and consequently unloved music a place in the modern musical landscape and making it part of our natural heritage is a considering challenge.

Since 2012 Terra Nova Collective musical director Vlad Weverbergh works together with musicologist Dr. David Vergauwen towards this goal. They surround themselves with a group of committed HIP musicians to bring this music live on the concert stage. This resulted in seven cd recordings, concerts, lecture performances, publications and online video footage.

Terra Nova Collective aims to bring a new view on the evolution of the repertoire that will give an opportunity to innovate the present-day concert repertoire.
